In this tour, you will visit the most important places in Yangon (The Commercial City) in South Myanmar, Bagan (The first Capital of the Myanmar Kingdom as well as the newly listed UNESCO heritage site), Mandalay (the last Royal Capital of Myanmar Kingdom) in Central Myanmar, Pindaya Cave, Kalaw (the British Hill station pine city), Taunggyi (the capital of Shan Stae) and Inle Lake (the 2nd largest Lake above 880 m above sea level) in the Eastern Myanmar, Shan State.

Itinerary

Day 1 Yangon Arrival + Half Day City Tour (-/-/-)

----- hours arrival at Yangon International Airport by afternoon flight. You will meet your tour guide after clearing immigration and customs control and transfer to hotel. Arrival hotel and check-in. (Normal check in time is 1400 hrs) Time to relax.
In the evening, visit the most worthwhile visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monument, the Shwedagon Pagoda. The golden dome of the Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. After enjoying sunset from the pagoda, transfer back to your hotel. Both lunch and dinner to your own account. Accommodation at Hotel, in Yangon.

Day 2 Yangon Full Day (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Pick up from your hotel and start your full day sightseeing by driving through the colonial style building downtown, as well as Chinatown, the Indian quarter and photo stop at City Hall & the Sule Pagoda with its golden chedi – a useful landmark in downtown Yangon. Then, take a walk along Yangon River to see the busy harbor area, from where ferries leave for Pathein in the Delta and for upcountry towns along the Ayeyarwady River and Botathaung Pagoda, said to contain Buddha relics. You can make a short visit to 100 years old Strand Hotel (if requested).
In the afternoon, visit Bogyoke (Scott) Market (closed on Mondays and Public Holidays) gives you the opportunity to see Myanmar's wide range of handicrafts. Proceed to the National Museum (closed on Mondays and Public Holidays) to admire an 8-meter-high Golden Lion Throne and Mandalay Royal Regalia and the rare artefact of the Country. Chauk Htat Gyi, a huge reclining Buddha image. Photo stop at the Karaweik Hall royal floating barge. Transfer back to your hotel at 18:00 P.M. Both lunch and dinner to your own account. Day 3 Yangon – Bagan (By Flight) (B/-/-)

After the breakfast at hotel, transfer to Airport for the domestic flight to Bagan (approx. 0700/0820 – direct). Upon arrival, drive to Nyaung Oo and stroll through the colorful local market where you can see the trading of local people. Then sightseeing includes: Shwezigon Pagoda – the prototype for later Myanmar pagodas built by King Anawrahta, Ananda Temple – King Kyansittha’s masterpiece and the crowning achievement of the early style temple of architecture and Htilominlo Temple – the largest temples.
After lunch by own account, check in to the hotel. Time to relax.
In the afternoon, visit to Lacquer-ware making home cottage, Manuha Temple, Myinkaba Gubyaukgyi Temple – known for its wall paintings depicting scenes from the Jataka and Dhamanyangyi Temple. In the evening, you can enjoy the magnificent sun-set view of Bagan from one of the sunset hills of Bagan. Both lunch and dinner are your own account. Accommodation at Hotel in Bagan.

Day 4 Bagan – Mount Popa – Bagan (B/-/-)

Optional morning program (operate from 07 Oct 2019 to 10 April 2020):
Early this morning, enjoy a balloon flight over the Bagan temples. Around 0530 hours the Balloon over Bagan shuttle bus will pick you up at your hotel. You will drive to the departure ground of the Balloons. While the team makes the Balloon ready to go, you enjoy some refreshments, but you can also take great pictures of this event. Then, depending on the wind, you will over fly Bagan for about one hour, and enjoy spectacular views of the ancient Kingdom of Bagan in your hot air balloon! The tour ends…..where ever the wind has brought you. A glass of sparkling wine ends this fantastic event….and the shuttle bus then brings you back to your hotel.

After breakfast, drive approx 50 km (1½ hours) will take you to Mount Popa, and extinct volcano with spectacular views. Its shrine is dedicated to animist spirit know as “Nats” and you will have time to climb the 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the peak. Lunch can be taken at beautiful Popa Mountain Resort (by own account).
Drive back to Bagan in the afternoon and on the way visit the palm tree workshop and learn jiggery sweet production. In the afternoon, the horse cart will take you through some of the more off the beaten track temple sites. Explore some more temples and experience the traditional way of travelling and transportation still commonly used by the rural people of Myanmar. Both lunch and dinner are your own account. Accommodation at Hotel in Bagan.

Day 5 Bagan – Mandalay (By Boat) (B/L/-)

After early breakfast, transfer to jetty and embark to Board RV N. Maikha to sail Mandalay. Check in time: 05:00 A.M. Departure time: 05:30 A.M. Light lunch will be served by the boat on the way on boat. The scenery along the river is timeless. Upon arrival to Mandalay at late afternoon, transfer to your hotel. Dinner by own account and overnight stay at Hotel in Mandalay.

Note: depending on the river condition, the boat schedule can be changed. If group tour, we can be rent by charter with supplement. In case the boat does not operate boat, you have to take private car or flight with Supplement.

Day 6 Mandalay – Amarapura (B/-/-)

After breakfast, drive to Amarapura, the penultimate Royal Capital and lying 11 km south of Mandalay. Here we visit Mahagandayon, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study and the 150-year-old U Bein teak bridge, built in 1851 at the time when Amarapura was the royal capital by staking 1060 teak posts over the wide Taungthaman Lake to connect two villages. One of the most photographed spots in Myanmar and well worth spending time walking across the bridge. Visit a traditional hand-woven silk workshop.
After Lunch (by own account), a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Mandalay includes Mahamuni Pagoda with its spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layers of gold leaves, a visit to a craftsman’s workshop to see Kalaga tapestries being created, Shwe Nan Daw Kyaung (Golden Monastery), a superb example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda (known as the world’s largest book), consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. Proceed to Mandalay Hill to enjoy the scenic view of the city and its environs at sunset time. Both lunch and dinner are your own account. Accommodation at hotel in Mandalay.

Day 7 Mandalay – Mingun – Innwa (Ava) (B/-/-)

After Breakfast at hotel, transfer to jetty for excursion by boat on the Ayeyarwaddy River to Mingun about 11 km (1 hour) upriver from Mandalay. Visit will start with the Mingun Bell, a magnificent sight of the world’s largest un-cracked bell weighing 90 tons, and will continue with Hsinbyume Paya as well as the unfinished Mingun Paya, built as one of the world’s largest chedis by King Bodaw Paya. Take the boat back to Mandalay.
In the afternoon, excursion to the former Royal Capital of Inwa (AVA), 20 km from Mandalay, drive to Inwa small jetty, and a short boat trip. Visit by horse drawn carriage include Bargayar Monastery, famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak posts; Nanmyint Watch Tower, the remains of the palace building nick-named “the leaning tower of Ava”; Mae Nu Oak Kyaung. Day 8 Mandalay – Heho (By Flight) Pindaya – Kalaw (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Mandalay Airport for domestic flight to Heho (approx. 0910/0940 – direct). Arrive Heho Airport and drive to Pindaya. Visit Pindaya Caves, ensconced in limestone ridge overlooking the lake. Inside the cavern there are more than 8008 Buddha images – made from alabaster, teak, marble, brick, lacquer and cement. Visit some Local Houses where families produce Shan Paper and Parasols. And then, drive to Kalaw, which was formerly a British Hill Station. Kalaw which was formerly a British Hill station is situated at 4365 ft is surrounded by hills and pine trees. A visit will made to the Hnee Paya Monastery on the hill. Both lunch and dinner to your own account. Accommodation at Hotel, in Kalaw.

Day 9 Kalaw – Taunggyi – Kakku – Nyaung Shwe – Inle Lake (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. This morning visit colorful market, a quaint railway station. Then drive to Taunggyi, capital of Southern Shan State and a former British hill station. Visit the local market where minority people sell their produce and a cheroot factory. Just a couple of hours from Taunggyi on tarred road, discover the "long lost" ruins of Kak Ku in countryside inhabited by the Pa O people. Situated in the rolling Shan Hills, Kak Ku pagoda is very unusual and little is known about its origins. The Pa O people believe that the original pagoda was built on the site some 2,000 years ago. Dozens of small stupas surround the main pagoda in a huge circle. You can wander around the stupas, which are decorated with fine stuccowork and Buddha images. Visit one of the many Pa O villages near Kak Ku and see a huge monastery on the way back to Taunggyi. In the late afternoon, drive to Nyaung Shwe on the edge of Inle Lake (by car). Day 10 Inle Lake – Indaing (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, explore one of the 5-day markets (on market day only). By visiting 5-day markets, clients will get insight into the life-style of the ethnic Pa-O, Danu and Intha inhabitants who came to these markets to sell their goods. Enjoy a full day boat trip on Inle Lake – a photographer's dream, its calm waters are dotted with floating vegetation and fishing canoes, to which scenic high hills provide the perfect backdrop. See the lake's unique “leg rowers” – the Intha people row standing up with one leg wrapped around an oar. Visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State. See traditional handicrafts - silk weaving on wooden handlooms and a blacksmith shop. Continue by boat to visit Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries on the lake. One can see ancient Buddha statues which are more than 200 years old.
In the afternoon, we enjoy another boat tour to Indaing, at the western end of the Lake. The boat takes you through a long channel where you watch the farmers cultivate their produce. This ride is one of the most scenic boat tours on Lake Inle. Both lunch and dinner to your own account. Accommodation at Hotel, in Nyaung Shwe.

Day 11 Nyaung Shwe – Heho – Yangon (by flight) (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. This morning, visit the local market in Nyaung Shwe and Red Mountain Wine yard near Nyaung Shwe where you can taste various wine produced from that farm (By own account). A visit can also made to the Horse Club ran by local people of that area (Horse riding by own account).
After lunch (by own account, transfer to Heho Airport for domestic flight to Yangon. Arrive Yangon Airport and transfer to your hotel for check in. Both Lunch and Dinner by own account. Accommodation at Hotel in Yangon.

Day 12 Yangon Departure (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Yangon International Airport for your departure flight.
