Know Before You Go (Additional Info)

  • As you will be visiting religious sites, please wear clothes that cover your shoulders and knees, and remember to take off your shoes and socks when entering pagoda areas.
  • Please note the Bogyoke Market and Museums are closed on Mondays and public holidays.
  • During Water Festival between 12 to 18 April, most of the restaurants, shops, markets and Museums are closed. Normal tourist sites such as Pagodas, Temples and parks are open but are very crowded. Driving through the city area and to the tourist sites will be difficult due to traffic as most of the people participate in the famous water-festival.
  • You cannot avoid of getting wet if you get out of the car or walk on the roads because everyone throws water to each other during this festival. People drive through the city in open cars and there are lots of stages shows, entertainments and funs along the roads.

Cancellation

Cancellation charges are calculated from the day the written notification is received by the clients or agent as a percentage of the net total tour price as shown, plus any surcharges (e.g. ticketed air sectors and other penalties imposed by suppliers, such as hotels):

  • Within 31-22 days prior to arrival date: 30% of package price
  • Within 21-15 days prior to arrival date: 50% of package price
  • Within 14-8 days prior to arrival date: 75% of package price
  • Within 7 days prior to arrival date: 100% of package price

Child Policy:

The price for children under 2 years old will be advised upon request when sharing the existing bedding with parents. Supplements for extra bed or baby cot may apply.

Children between 02-11 years of age at the time of travelling are granted a discount rate (mentioned in child price) when traveling with minimum 2 adults and sharing the existing bedding with parents. Supplements for extra bed or baby cot may apply.

When one adult is traveling with a child between 02-11 years old, the full charge of an adult price is applied.

Important Notes:

There may be changes to estimated prices depending on air fuel cost, domestic airfares, US$ exchange rates and festive season surcharges. All supplemental cost to be advised.

Hotels’ normal Check in time is 1400 hrs and Check out time is 1200 noon.

Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on weather, road and/or river conditions, flight schedules and room availability. No refund shall be made for any change during once you have started your tour in Myanmar.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival Yangon + City Tour (-/-/-)

Arrive Yangon International Airport by morning flight. Upon arrival at Yangon Airport, you will be welcomed by our guide and transferred to your hotel (Hotel check-in time is 1400 hrs). On the way to hotel, start your sightseeing with the magnificent Reclining Buddha Image at Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda. Take a photo stop at the Karaweik Hall, a ‘Hamsa-bird’ shaped floating barge on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake.
After check in, start your afternoon sightseeing by driving through the colonial style building downtown, as well as Chinatown, the Indian quarter and photo stop at City Hall & the Sule Pagoda with its golden chedi – a useful landmark in downtown Yangon.
In the afternoon visit Bogyoke (Scott) Market (close on Mondays and Public Holidays) to see Myanmar's wide range of handicrafts. Conclude your day with the most worthwhile visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monument, the Shwedagon Pagoda. The golden dome of the Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. After enjoying sunset from the pagoda, transfer back to your hotel. Day 2 Yangon – Mandalay (By Flight) (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to domestic airport for your morning domestic flight to Mandalay (Approx : 0700/0825 – direct). Upon arrival to Mandalay Airport, experience the sights and sounds of Mandalay including the visits one of the most revered religious monuments in the Mahamuni Pagoda. Since Mandalay is also a major crafts center, you can also visit a Kalaga tapestries craftsmen’s shop. Visit Shwe In Bin Monastery.
After lunch (by own account). Check in to your hotel. After refreshments, visit the Golden Palace Monastery (Shwe Nandaw / Shwe Kyaung), a superb example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda the world’s largest book made of marble Enjoy the sunset at Mandalay Hill. Both lunch and dinner are your own account. Accommodation at Hotel in Mandalay.

Day 3 Mandalay – Amarapura – Sagaing – Monywa (overland) (B/-/-)

After Breakfast at hotel, 08:00 A.M. drive to Amarapura, 15 km from Mandalay. Visit to 200-year-old U Bein Teak Bridge, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was Royal capital. Visit a traditional hand-woven silk workshop. At 09:30 A.M. visit Maha-Gandayon Monastery (photographing is not allowed), a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study and to watch the monks for their alms round. Lunch by own account at local restaurant.
Then, drive to Sagaing Hill to enjoy the panoramic beauty of Mandalay and Irrawaddy River. Continue by road to Monywa and if time permit en-route visit Thanboddhay Pagoda, which is about 20 kilometers from Monywa. The richly decorated central stupa has no less than 845 smaller stupas around it. Inside the patio, you will see thousands of Buddha images (reportedly over 500,000) decorating every wall, archway and niche. The buildings in the compound have interesting jataka relieves and there is a huge Reclining Buddha nearby. Arrival Monywa, check into your hotel. Dinner by own account. Day 4 Monywa – Pakokku – Bagan (Overland) (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. This morning, drive to visit a sandstone cave system in the Po Win Hills, named after a famous 'zawgyi' (alchemist) who once lived here. The Caves of Po Win Daung, numbering more than one hundred, are full of Buddhist statues and murals. Most exhibit the Innwa style but some may date from the 14th Century. Lunch (by own account) at Local Restaurant in Pakkoku. Continue drive to Bagan (via Pakkoku). Arrive Bagan in the evening. Dinner (By own account) and accommodation Hotel in Bagan.

Day 5 Bagan (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Start your full day sightseeing with the visit of colorful local market in Nyaung Oo. Visit the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda, which is Bagan's most important reliquary shrine – look out for images of the 37 'nats' housed in a small hall. Continue to Gubyaukgyi (Wetkyi In village), another 'cave' temple with fine frescoes of the 'Jataka Tales'. Next stop is Htilominlo, the last Bamar style temple built in Bagan, with old murals and friezes. Check into your hotel late morning. Continue to Ananda Temple, a whitewashed masterpiece of Mon architecture with four standing Buddhas, and the adjacent brick monastery from the early Bagan era with well-preserved murals. Make a photo stop at the tallest temple measuring 61 meters - Thatbyinnyu known as 'temple of omniscience' and dating from 1144. Lunch by own account at local restaurant.
After lunch, visit a Lacquer ware factory to watch craftsmen skilfully making this most famous of Bagan handicrafts. Continue to Damayangyi, a massive-looking temple dating from 1170 that is famous for its interlocking mortar less brickwork. Next, visit Sulamani, one of Bagan’s great two-storied Bamar style temples, which has 4-seated Buddha images. Then, visit Gubyaukgyi Temple admiring the fine stuccowork. Stop at Myazedi stupa to see Myanmar's "Rosetta Stone", bearing inscriptions written in four languages. See the four Buddha images in Manuha Pagoda. In the late afternoon, enjoy the private boat tour on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River to enjoy the sunset view of Bagan. Dinner by own account and aaccommodation at Hotel in Bagan.

Day 6 Bagan – Heho – Inle Lake (By Flight) (B/-/-)

After the breakfast, transfer to Bagan Airport for domestic flight to Heho (Approx: 0805/0845 – direct). Arrive at Heho Airport and transfer to Nyaung Shwe. Today enjoy full day boat trip on Inle Lake – a photographer's dream, its calm waters are dotted with floating vegetation and fishing canoes, to which scenic high hillsone leg wrapped around an oar. Pass endless floating gardens, where fruit and vegetables are grown. Continue by boat to visit Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries on the lake. One can see ancient Buddha statues which are more than 200 years old.
After lunch at local restaurant (by own account), visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State. Then visit Inn Paw Khone Village to see Silk & Lotus Weaving Work Shop, Blacksmith Work Shop & Cheroot (Burmese Cigar) and Paper Work Shop. Dinner by own account at hotel. Accommodation at Hotel in Nyaung Shwe.

Day 7 Indein – Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon (By flight) (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. This morning, explore one of the 5-day markets (on market day only). By visiting 5-day markets, clients will get insight into the life-style of the ethnic Pa-O, Danu and Intha inhabitants who came to these markets to sell their goods. Enjoy another boat tour to the western shore of Inle Lake, where you will find the beginning of a stair path leading to the well hidden Indein Pagoda complex. The boat takes you through a long channel where you watch the farmers cultivate their produce. This ride is one of the most scenic boat tours on Lake Inle.
After lunch at local restaurant (by own account), leave your hotel and transfer to Heho Airport for domestic flight to Yangon (Approx : 1625/1735 – direct). Upon arrival, transfer to hotel only. Dinner by own account and accommodation at Hotel in Yangon.

Day 8 Yangon – Golden Rock (110 miles ) (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. At 07:00 A.M. depart from Yangon and start overland drive to Kin Pun "base camp" of Golden rock (110 miles – 4 hours) and onward to Kyaiktiyo (the "Golden Rock"), a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaves and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. Arrive Kim Pun Based Camp at approx. in the noon.
After lunch (by own account) you have to take the open truck to reach to the mountain top pagoda. After arriving to the top of the mountain pagoda, check-in to your hotel. Then, your group can visit the Golden Rock Pagoda and take the photo around there. Watch the beauty of a sunset at this important pilgrimage site. Dinner by own account. Accommodation at Hotel near Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock).

Remark: The open trucks operating from the base camp to the mountain top is closed at 18:00 P.M. If the group late, they will have no trucks to the hotels as well as sunset view can be missed at the mountain top.

Day 9 Kyaikhtiyo – Hpa-An (74 miles) – Mawlamyine (36 miles) (B/-/-)

Early breakfast at hotel. At 07:00 A.M., take the truck down to the base camp of Golden Rock (approx 1 hour drive) and depart from Kyaiktiyo for Hpa-An (74 miles- about 2 hours), the capital of Kayin State on the bank of Salween River. Visit to the Bayint Nyi Cave, Yathebyan Cave, Kawgoon Cave, with numerous Buddha images, stalactites and stalagmites. Lunch at by own account at local restaurant.
Proceed on the last stretch (36 miles - about 1 hour drives) to Mawlamyine. On the way a visit is made to U Na Auk Monasteries, to observe its fine carvings and paintings. Proceed to Mawlamyine in the late afternoon in time to watch sunset at Kyaikthanlan Pagoda, known as the Kipling Pagoda on the hill and Seindon Mibaya Kyaung, where King Mindon’s queen sought refuge. Dinner by own account and accommodation at Hotel in Mawlamyine.

Day 10 Mawlamyine – Bago – Yangon (195 miles) (B/-/-)

After early breakfast, at 0700 AM, a short visit in Mawlamyine the first Baptist Church built since British Colonial Era. Then proceed to Bilu (Orge) Island by passing the newly built bridge where you can visit, some of home cottage industries where various local products are made. Return back to Mawlamyine and about 1100 PM, leave from Upon arrival Bago, short visit the Great Shwemawdaw Pagoda, which is over a thousand years old. Its spire is even taller than that of Yangon's Shwedagon Pagoda, the 55-meter-long reclining Shwe Thalyaung Buddha Image, one of the country's most revered objects. Time permit, visit Hinthar Kone Pagoda where you can learn the Sprit (Nat dance). Arrive Yangon in the late evening. Dinner by own account. Accommodation at Hotel in Yangon.

Day 11 Yangon departure (B/-/-)

Early breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Yangon Airport for your departure flight.
