A pleasant 2 days walking tour to Yasakyi Village, mostly inhabited by the ethnic Danu and Palaung people. The path is relatively unknown to most of the tourists and specially crafted for people who like to hike off the beaten track.
In this tour, you will get to learn the wide spreading culture of local people and a new trekking route to Danu Village will be introduced. Witness local farmers still working with oxen and buffalo rather than machines in this traditional rural environment and thoroughly pass through colourful farming of vegetables and flowers on your way.
Experience the Shan train ride, hiking in the villages and picnic dinner on the hill overlooking stunning view of the Inle Lake. The country side in the Shan State offers the most stunning pictures.
In every season, the colours of the fields are different and the farmers doing their work offer great photo opportunities. Meeting the local tribal people and observing their typical ways of life are simply amazing.
Early morning, pick-up from your hotel and walk to the market and buy all the provision for your forthcoming 2 days trek. This morning, enjoy a walk through the hills, 1 hour, to Htut Ni, village of the Danu tribe. You will pass through the farming where the Danu cultivates cheroot, tea, damsons and mangoes on the hillsides. The track crosses the valley floor before climbing very steeply again to another Danu village of See Kya Inn. Continue to walk about 2 hours to Yasakyi, another Danu village and stop for a simple lunch.In the afternoon, observe tribal village life and how the Palaung people dry cheroot in a specially designed oven. Simple dinner (local cooking) and accommodation at Yasakyi Monastery.
Simple breakfast. This morning enjoy continue a walk through the hills, 40 minutes to the village of Danu tribe. The Danu cultivate peanut, corn, potatoes on the hillside. After 40 minutes arrive at Danu village of Lin Lay Inn and continue to Taung Paw Gyi, 1 hours and 30 minutes by trekking mixed this route up and down hills. The path leads through villages, producing Shan Tea in the traditional way. You will see the drying of the tealeaves and pass through the tea plantations. From Taung Paw Gyi descending to Pindaya through the Banyan Trees. Arrive back to your hotel in Pindaya.
