Loikaw (Kayah State)

Loikaw, the capital of Kayah State is situated about 210 miles in the northwestern part of Yangon in the hilly region. The town is filled with natural beauties as it is off the normal routes from tourists. It can be reached by flight from Yangon or Mandalay. It also can reached by car from Nyaung Shwe about 6 to 7 hours. Drive. It can also be reached by baat from Inle Lake via Phekhone Inn throug Sagar (about 5 hours crive). It can also be reached by train from Aungpan (near Kalaw). Taungkwe Zedi, in the southern part of Loikaw is also famous for its histry. The town is famous for its lawpita Hydro Power Mill which is 15 miles South eastof Loikaw and Ngwedaung Dam.
